"Cinema and War" is a theme with which we have been living, falling asleep and waking up every day for over a year and a half now.

War is a shock, a trauma, a tragedy, but also inexhaustible material for reflection - both artistic and human.

Every movie, even an entertaining one, conceived and shot under different circumstances - be it a Marvel blockbuster or a fantasy about the wizards at Hogwarts - seems to cry out for the crisis times we have lived through. Whether it is the British art-horror about the commandant of Auschwitz "Zone of Interest" (Cannes Grand Prix) or the acclaimed "Oppenheimer" about the genius who created the atomic bomb, the lyrical drama from Finland "Fallen Leaves" or the courageous adventure film "Snowbird" from Russia - everywhere there are echoes of the ongoing war.

Documentary and fiction movies, uncompromising and false, honest and evasive - today they participate in the war, whether their authors want it or not.

Anton Dolin, a well-known film critic, author of the publication Meduza and the YouTube channel Radio Dolin, discusses how this front is organized in a dialog with the public.
